What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Originally as a group we discussed thoroughly the idea for our film, and taking into account the whole film, which then enabled us to make a decision that our film would be mainstream.

We gained inspiration from the opening of 'Dawn of the Dead' (2004). As this is a mainstream film, we felt that the way we intend to edit our opening it has great similarities to the open of 'Dawn of the Dead'(2004)
I believe that our film would be produced and distributed by Universal Studio's as they disributed 'Dawn of the Dead' (2004) and this is the type of film they would be interested in as our film and feel that our film would target the mass audience.
20th Century Fox distrbuted and produced films such as 'Mirrors' (2008) and 'The Sixth Sense' (1999). This would also be a posible institution to distribute our film, as they release films with similiar plots to our, the 'hero' (TZVETAN TODOROV theory of equilibrium) searching for the solution to maintain the equilibrium within the film, which is a similar plot line to our film. 20 Century Fox is a potential distribution option.

Both Universal and 20th Century Fox are equally as good and we would be giving them a high percentage of our film.

Universal Studio's and 20th Century Fox, both have a mass mainstream audience. By having a mainstream film, it would be very benifical to us being with a well known institution like 20th Century Fox and Universal Studio's as it would be easier distribute our film effectively and productivley to the mass mainstream audience. By doing a case study on 'Avatar' (2009) I researched that 20th Century Fox had easier access to distribution and it would be more likley that our film would be avertised in the cinema close to the other mainstream well known films, for example 'Black Swan'(2011).
