Resit-Conventions found in Psychological Thrillers

'Psychological Thriller's' come under a sub-Genre.

A convention found within Psychological thrillers, is for the main character to be fighting for the balance of equilibrium, which follows 'Todorov's Narrative Theory'.  Commonly another convention is that the protagonist will use their mind to figure out the solution to balance the equilibrium which links to the 'Psychological' part to the genre. For example the film 'Knowing' (2009) uses numbers and the protagonists quest using his mind to figure out what the message is and how to reinstate the equilibrium.

Numbers is also a generic convention found within psychological thrillers, linking back to the previous convention of using the mind. The film 'The Number 23'(2007) also uses numbers, which constantly loops back to the number 23, a manipulation of the lead characters mind.

We would have to apply some of these conventions to our film, to make our film a successful psychological thriller, as our audience will be expecting similarities. We have decided to use the convention of the mind. The lead protagonist using her mind in a battle of wit to retrieve her daughter back, which reinstates the equilibrium.
